Following this, MP Tourism Board’s AMD Bidisha Mukherjee outlined the state government’s efforts to promote tourism. She mentioned the availability of subsidies of up to INR 1.5 crore to boost film tourism, with additional support of up to INR 75 lakh to promote film infrastructure. She pointed out the vast potential for tourism in Madhya Pradesh, including wildlife and religious tourism.
Speaking about the film, director Vivek Anchaliya shared that the story of “Tikadam” was written in 2007, with production beginning in 2018. Initially, the film was titled “Papa Ke Joote,” then considered the name “Gubbare,” before finally settling on “Tikadam,” which felt like the perfect fit. He explained that the movie addresses the pressing issues of climate change and migration.
Actor Amit Sial, known for his roles in renowned films and web series like Mirzapur, Maharani, and Gangs of Wasseypur, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. He revealed that he agreed to be part of the film within 10 minutes of hearing its pitch. According to Sial, the film beautifully blends drama with important topics such as global warming and the lives of migrant workers. He added that “Tikadam” is a family entertainer with a message, and he is excited for audiences to see his unique role in the film. Addressing the question of why family films don’t perform commercially as well as other genres, Sial noted that the industry caters to audience demand. He encouraged people to support and promote family-oriented films to see more of them made. The event ended with vote of thanks.
