BBA in Hospitality and Restaurant Management in collaboration with NRAI-National Restaurant Association of India was launched yesterday at Vanmali auditorium, SCOPE Global Skills University Bhopal.
During the ceremony, Chief Guest Mr.Sheo Shekhar Shukla(Principal Secretary, Tourism, culture & Public Relation Department, Govt. of M.P.) emphasized that initiating an extensive course in Hospitality and Restaurant Management is a pioneering initiative by SGSU. He also extended an invitation to SGSU and NRAI to collaborate under the “Learn and Earn” scheme to benefit students.
Co-Head of NRAI Bhopal Chapter, Mr. Sachin Agrawal, expressed that with the right skills and education, growth becomes more accessible, especially with the increasing influx of entrepreneurs in this industry.
Chancellor of Scope Global Skills University, Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, remarked that through the BBA Program in Hospitality and Restaurant Management, they have initiated an ideal course aligned with industry standards. They aim to tailor more courses in future to match the requirements of other sectors as well. He expressed gratitude towards the team NRAI and their leadership for this collaboration.
Vice Chancellor of SGSU, Dr. Ajay Bhushan, elaborated on the new course, stating that in the three-year program the first year is for on-campus education, followed by hands-on industry experience in the second and third year, where students will also have internship opportunities.
Sharing his thoughts on the BBA course, Registrar of SGSU, Dr. Sitesh Kumar Sinha, emphasized that as a Skills University, their objective is to equip youth with industry alligned skills to enhance their employability.
Mr. Prakash Chandra Rout stated It’s a positive development to see such initiatives in India now. He shared that one in every five jobs in the country is related to tourism and hospitality, contributing up to 12% of the GDP.
